Food for Thought

Integrity in Culture

(Q) In what ways go you see a drought of truth and integrity in your culture? What are the effects, practically and specifically, in the nation, the family, the workplace, the church? How do these results affect you personally?

(A) Two sides, Republic and Democratic, right and left have totally different story based on one same event. For their interest, they don’t seem care about truth. At work, my manager, a nice guy, boldly says for money, integrity can be ignored. It makes me confusion, tempts me to be dishonest, or sometimes upset.

Ananias and Sapphire

(Q) Review the story of Ananias and Sapphire in Act 5. Do you think their punishment was too severe … too lenient (관대한)? (Be honest!) What does this early-church account teach you today?

(A) Too severe, especially comparing today church discipline.

Small Fib

(Q) Do you agree with Helmut Thielicke’s statement. “The avoidance of one small fib … may be a stronger confession o faith than a whole ‘Christian philosophy’ champion in length, forceful discussion.” What small fibs do you sometimes find yourself telling? What can you do practically to stop doing this?

(A) I do agree. I was tempted

I will not deny my integrity

(Q) Do you share Job’s determination on this matter (“Till I die, I will not deny my integrity” (Job 27:5)? Why or why not?

(A) Yes, that is my determination too. Because I love God and want and love to obey Him.

Integrity and Wholeness

(Q) Considering the connection between integrity and wholeness, what is really at stake (성패가 달려있는) in the twentieth century quest for wholeness and integrated health (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual)? What does it mean to you to be “whole”? Are you willing to pay God’s price for integrity?

(A) Compromising in a small stuff isn’t good. As Bible teaches that we should watch out yeast, or small fox can ruin the whole vineyard. Yes, I am willing to pay God’s price for integrity.

Benefits of Integrity

(Q) Which benefits of integrity mean the most to you personally? What are you willing todo to make these traits real in your life? What part does God play in this?

(A) Character, intimacy, elevation, evangelism Pray and do it. Say no to temptations which ruin the integrity.

Applications

(Q) What did God speak to you about most specifically, most powerfully in this chapter? Talk to Him about it right now!

(A) on page 125, “Sadly, Christians are almost as likely as non-Christians to:” Watched illegally copied movies form YouTube. Disobeying small traffic light while walking, stop signs in neighbor … I talk to my heart, it’s a small stuff … I don’t to be mediocre.
